General Contractors: One List for the Field and the Office

General contractors use Punchlists AI when updates get buried in the group text and the office finds out late. The Field App lets people on site text instead of learning another login. You still choose what an owner or a sub receives. It can fit a small crew or a larger office if the people on site will text.

The snag

The latest instruction is buried in the group text.

A superintendent asks for a photo. Three subs reply in three threads. By Friday the office is chasing the same punch item, and the owner hears about it late. That problem shows up on a two-person remodel and on a large commercial job.

  • Small crews often have no one whose only job is data entry.
  • Larger offices already have a project system and still lose the daily text.
  • The Field App does not replace a full cost or drawing system. This site does not claim that.
What you can do here

People on site text. The office sees a task.

The Field App page says crews do not download an app or create a login. They send a text. The office can turn that into a task, a reminder, or a shared document. Language translation and a client dashboard are listed on the Field App and pricing pages.

  • You pick what a sub or owner receives.
  • Punchlists AI does not message them on its own.
  • Adopter Pro is a free trial. Build and Build Pro have no published price.
Stay in charge

You still decide the owner update.

A text trail is not a substitute for the conversation you need to have about money, safety, or a change in the work. Use the text so the fact is written down. Keep the decision with the superintendent or project manager.

  • Name the room, the trade, and who owns the item.
  • Do not copy every crew text to the owner.
  • Managed Solutions is a separate setup if you want custom screens. It has no fixed price on this site.

Questions

Is this only for small general contractors?

No. The Field App is a text path for crews. A small firm may use it as the main list. A larger firm may keep its project system and still use texts so the daily update is not lost. This site does not say it replaces that system.

Will my subs be texted without my say-so?

No. The Field App FAQ says you, the GC or project manager, choose how often and which updates go to subs and clients.

What does it cost to try?

Adopter Pro is a free trial: one month with no commitment, or three months with a monthly feedback session. Build and Build Pro are marked coming soon and have no published monthly price.
